CURRENT PROJECTS
REACH’s “Evidence-based Approaches for Systems Serving Youth (EASSY) Program”
Current EASSY projects include sustained, comprehensive training programs that offer front-line staff from systems serving youth (including child welfare, foster care, juvenile justice, school clinics, and primary care settings) — i.e., hands-on training in proven methods for identifying and treating children and teens with depression, suicidal thoughts, substance abuse problems, or other undiagnosed but severe problems. All organizational personnel as appropriate are assisted in using this information to make an appropriate referral for further evaluation and treatment, if warranted.
Current comprehensive EASSY programs include the following:
The Casey Family Research and Development Project
School Support Programs
NYC DART (Depression Awareness and Treatment) Program.
Guidelines for Adolescent Depression - Primary Care (GLAD -- PC)
For more information about EASSY project opportunities, contact Peter S. Jensen, M.D., at eassy@thereachinstitute.org for more information and costs.
