Juli Wilson Marshall, Esq., Partner

Latham & Watkins, Chicago, IL

Juli Wilson Marshall passed away on May 2, 2007. Juli was instrumental in the founding of the REACH Institute, as well as the K.I.D.S. Alliance.  A partner in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins and an attorney with the firm for more than two decades, Ms. Marshall was also co-chair of the firm's Products Liability and Mass Torts Practice Group, a former Chair of the Global Recruiting Committee and a former member of the Associates Committee.

Ms. Marshall's practice focused on complex litigation and class actions in a variety of tort, intellectual property, insurance and commercial litigation. In the 2004 edition of Chambers & Partners' Guide to America's Leading Business Lawyers, Ms. Marshall was named as "a leading lawyer in the intellectual property area."

A 1981 graduate of James Madison College and the Honors College of Michigan State University, Ms. Marshall received her J.D. in 1984 from Michigan Law School, where she was the Executive & Research Editor of the Michigan Law Review and champion of the Henry M. Campbell Moot Court Competition. She joined Latham & Watkins in 1984 in the Los Angeles office, where she practiced for ten years prior to transferring to the Chicago office.

Ms. Marshall was an active participant in a variety of pro bono and community activities, advancing the interests of disadvantaged and disabled children. She had been at the forefront on issues concerning the use of technology in the legal profession and was the founding chair of the firm's Technology Committee, co-chair of the Law Journal Extras' Internets/ Intranets/ Extranets legal conference, a key note speaker at a PriceWaterhouseCoopers' Legal Tech Conference and a contributor to many professional conferences on emerging legal and technology issues.
